Meet Your Guides

Our guides. An integral part of who we at The Elms and what we do. Numerous other parts that move our operation, though guides are one of the more important – and certainly an important part of the outing with respect to you, our guest, and the reason we do what we do.

Let’s meet your guide team who will hunt with you this season. Both hail from but a few miles outside the gates of The Elms, and both have loved flights of fall fancy since they were little fellows. Anyway and without further ado, meet our team who will work with you to make yours a memorable outing with us during the 2023/2024 season:

Mike Land

Mike was introduced to waterfowl hunting some 45 years ago by his uncle where the duo hunted the flooded rice fields of Cardon Bottoms along the Petit Jean River. An Arkansas native, Mike was born and raised in Yell County – an area known for stellar waterfowl hunting. He’s been assisting us with guiding and many facets of the operations here at The Elms for 12 years and now serves as our Senior Guide. He and Facilities Manager Randy are tasked with developing agricultural plans for all our properties you will find yourself hunting on along with all additional aspects to ensure a memorable hunting adventure.

Colton Edwards

Lead Guide Colton grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He’s hunted ducks and geese all his life and enjoys traveling from coast to coast pursuing them. He’s over half-way to successfully harvesting all 43 North American waterfowl species…bound and determined to complete this “slam,” we know it won't be too long until he accomplishes the feat. When not hunting and in the outdoors, Colton enjoys time with his wife Destney and son Maverick. In the off-season, he loves to jump in the truck and drive to different haunts across our great nation adding to his already bulging gun collection.

Both Mike and Colton are here to work hard and here to work hard for you…and cannot wait to host and to treat you to waterfowl hunting in the Arkansas River Valley. Mallards, widgeon, specks, spoonies, gaddies, sprig, green-winged teal and a few additional species to see, hunt and to marvel over. After your day’s hunt, the guys will get you back to The Elms for hors d’ oeuvres, cocktails, a home-style Southern meal followed by time to share stories of the day around the firepit. Sounds pretty good to us and we know it does you as well.

We are here to set a hunt for you should you care to hunt with us – call or see us online anytime so we can set plans to make memories for you, colleagues or family.
