One of the most talked-about changes this year involves Arkansas’s early teal season. For the 2025-26 season, the early teal hunt has been reduced to

Early teal season has become a favorite among many Arkansas hunters because it offers the first real opportunity of the fall to get back in the blind, work dogs, and enjoy fast-paced action before the regular duck season opens. While the season is slightly shorter this year, hunters can still expect exciting opportunities during that September window.

As hunters across Arkansas begin looking ahead to cooler mornings, flooded timber, and another unforgettable season outdoors, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has announced several regulation updates for the 2025-26 hunting season. Whether you’re a seasoned waterfowl hunter or someone planning your first trip to Arkansas this fall, staying informed is an important part of making the most of your time in the field.

At The Elms Lodge, located in the heart of the Mississippi Flyway, we know how much preparation goes into every hunt. From scouting fields and managing habitat to setting decoys before daylight, details matter. That’s why we’re breaking down some of the biggest updates from the AGFC that hunters should know heading into the new season.

The AGFC also announced several broader hunting regulation changes that impact deer hunters across the state.

In addition, Conway County has been added to Tier 2 of the Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Management Zone, and antler restrictions within WMAs in Conway County have been removed. Hunters should continue monitoring AGFC guidance regarding CWD management efforts throughout Arkansas.

For hunting and fishing guides operating within Arkansas, the AGFC has introduced a new combination hunting-fishing guide license priced at $350 annually. Previously, guides were required to purchase separate licenses for hunting and fishing operations. The combined license is expected to simplify the process for outfitters and guides across the state.

The AGFC also announced expanded public access to portions of Hot Springs State Forest WMA, creating additional opportunities for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts to explore Arkansas public lands.

Looking Ahead to Another Arkansas Waterfowl Season

Every season brings change, but one thing remains constant —

Arkansas continues to be one of the premier waterfowl destinations in the country

. From flooded timber to agricultural fields loaded with migrating ducks and geese, there’s a reason hunters travel from across the nation to experience the Natural State.

At The Elms Lodge, we’re already preparing for another unforgettable season in the blind. Located on more than 5,000 acres of premier waterfowl habitat, our team is committed to delivering the kind of hunting experience that keeps traditions alive and memories lasting for generations.

As regulations evolve and seasons approach, staying informed helps ensure every hunt is safe, successful, and enjoyable. We encourage all hunters to review official AGFC materials before heading afield and continue supporting conservation efforts that protect Arkansas’s wildlife and outdoor heritage.

Duck season will be here before we know it — and we can’t wait to welcome hunters back to The Elms Lodge for another season in the heart of the Mississippi Flyway.
