The Elms offers a unique, one-of-a-kind experience for duck hunters looking for something different. We offer first-class wing shooting and a timeless atmosphere. The Elms is the perfect place for family, friends, and business hunting retreats. Positioned in the heart of Arkansas’ Duck Country, our wetlands and flooded grain fields draw vast numbers of migrating waterfowl from not only the Mississippi Flyway, but also the Central Flyway as a result of the Arkansas River.
The House
The home, located just south of Altheimer, about 15 miles northeast of Pine Bluff, has an amazing 152-year history. It was built just after the Civil War and stayed in the same family until the Great Depression. It was purchased by a Chicago lawyer, then returned to a descendant of the original owner and has remained in the family since. Today, the historic house in rural Jefferson County is situated in the middle of a 6,000-acre farm. It is the centerpiece of The Elms Lodges & Leases—the largest woman-owned and operated commercial duck hunting business in the South.
The Fields
The Elms is located in the Mississippi flyway 15 miles south of Stuttgart, Arkansas. As part of the Wetland Reserve Program (NRCS), our fields are designed to be a natural habitat for waterfowl, and to incorporate millet, barnyard grass, smart weed, NRCS selected trees and water. We also offer rice, corn, bean fields and flooded timber. Kim’s several thousand acre duck hunting land is comprised of fields ranging in size from 40 to 300 acres.
The Hunting
For corporate hunters we offer day hunting all inclusive, from outfitting you for your hunt, to your duck blind in the field, to your fine dining experience at The Elms. We know how to serve our customers. Just sit back and enjoy your hunting experience!
For the client that wants the freedom to do their own hunt, we offer field leases and lodges by the night or by the season. In these fields, we offer field and water management.
The Lodges
The Elms offers hunters 10 distinctively different lodges on the grounds and nearby farmland. Our lodge styles range from luxurious five-star facilities to smaller rustic accommodations. The lodges may be leased for the full duck season or overnight rental. Lodging packages include a continental breakfast, brunch, evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvre, followed by a gourmet dinner in the historic house dining room.
